Graveside service for Don Wesley Samuel of Cape Girardeau will be held at 10 a.m. today at Cape County Memorial Park. The Rev. Jim Sanderson will officiate.
There is no visitation.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Samuel, 74, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at his home.
He was born March 2, 1927, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Frank and Helen Sides Samuel. He and Doris Joiner were married Oct. 21, 1950, in Cape Girardeau. She died Feb. 18, 1984.
Samuel was a graduate of the University of Missouri-Rolla. He worked for A.B. Chance (Emerson Electric) more than 30 years. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and American Legion.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Navy.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Samuel of Spring Park, Minn., Richard Samuel of Montpelier, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
