SIKESTON -- Don Payne, 65, of Sikeston, died Saturday, March 5, 1994, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
He was born April 6, 1928, at Parma, Mo., son of Alonzo Edgar and Sarah Frances Griffen Payne.
He married Helen Burnett, Nov. 10, 1952, at Piggott, Ark.
Payne was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army.
He worked as a carpenter for the Boyer Construction Company.
Payne was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Sikeston.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Butch Payne of Sikeston; a daughter, Debbie Hosey of Sikeston; a brother, Howard Payne of Dexter; and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, with the Rev. Kelley Grubbs officiating.
Burial will follow in the Blodgett Cemetery.
