THE VILLAGES, Fla. -- Don H. Menard, 85, of The Villages, formerly of Cape Girardeau, entered into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019.

Don was born Aug. 5, 1934, in Blytheville, Arkansas.

He was a retired State Farm insurance agent, served in the U.S. Marine Corp, was a 19th-degree Shriner and a former member of Noon Optimist Club in Cape Girardeau.

He loved to travel, and he and his wife, Karen, traveled full time in an RV for five years before moving to The Villages in 2005.

Don loved his family and friends, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Don is survived by his beloved wife of almost 64 years, Karen K. Menard; children, Bruce (Angie) Menard of Chesterton, Indiana, Leanne (Mike) Bollinger of Jackson, Kirk (Judy) Menard of Wentzville, Missouri, and Steven (Melissa) Menard of Columbia, Missouri; grandchildren, Robert Menard, Andrew Menard, Allan Lancaster, Kirk Menard Jr., Matthew Menard, Caymen Menard and Grace Menard; and great-grandchildren, Nathan, Audrey and Gavin Menard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, N.B. III and Harriett Menard, and brother, N.B. Menard Jr.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at New Covenant United Methodist Church, 3470 Woodridge Drive in The Villages.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or New Covenant United Methodist Church.
