Don Craig, 74, of Pine Bluff, Ark., and formerly of Illmo, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at his home.
He was born July 15, 1926, in Illmo, son of Morris and Gladys Richards Craig. He and Betty Chrisman were married July 24, 1959, in Kennett, Mo.
Craig was a graduate of Illmo High School and attended Southeast Missouri State College at Cape Girardeau. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a locomotive engineer for Southern Pacific (Cotton Belt) Railroad. In 1987, he retired after 40 years of service to the railroad.
Craig was a longtime member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He was a Mason, and on July 26, 2000, he received his 50-year Masonic pin.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Dr. Leon Frances Sunday School class. He also served on the church's finance and architectural committees and was involved in several investment groups.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Mark Craig of Arlington, Texas; and one grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son in Pine Bluff. The Rev. Gordon Topping and Dr. John H. McClanahan will officiate.
Committal service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Mo.
