DOLORES MARTENS

PERRYVILLE -- Dolores T. Martens, 80, of Perryville died Friday, March 17, 2000, at Perry County Nursing Home.

She was born May 7, 1919, in Perry County, daughter of Martz and Ellen Doll Brown. She marred Joseph J. Martens Nov. 23, 1940, in Perryville.

She was a member of Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer, American Legion Auxiliary, Extension Club, Quilt Club, and a lifetime member of VFW Auxiliary. She was also a 4-H leader. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Kenneth Martens of Perryville, James Martens of Orange Park, Fla.; three daughters, Mary Jo'Ellen Steffan of Poplar Bluff, Sharon Hoff of Perryville, Gayle Lynn of Frohna; a brother, Clyde Brown of Perryville; three sisters, Gladys Riney of Perryville, Wanda Boxdorfer of Gallipolis, Ohio, Norma Funk of St. Louis; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, six brothers, and a grandchild.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at Miller Family Funeral Home. Parish wake will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Monday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Christ the Savior Church with the Rev. Felipe Martinez officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
