DOLLIE M. THORNTON

EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Dollie Mae Thornton of O'Fallon will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Burl Britt will officiate, with burial in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Thornton, 79, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 1995, at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles.

She was born Jan. 4, 1916, at Anniston, daughter of Elex and May Messimore Lane. She and Charlie J. Thornton were married Sept. 22, 1934, at Charleston. He died Sept. 26, 1985.

Thornton had lived in Mississippi County most of her life. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in East Prairie.

Survivors include a son, Robert Coffer of East Prairie; a daughter, Rachel Schneider of O'Fallon, and a granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
