ULLIN, Ill. -- Dimple Honey Campbell, 83, of Ullin died Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 15, 1922, in Thebes, Ill., daughter of James B. and Opal Grant Wilson. She married Desmond "John" Honey Dec. 23, 1939. He died Aug. 29, 1989. She later married Victor "Bud" Campbell, and he died Oct. 26, 2005.
Campbell was a member of First Baptist Church of Ullin. She did mission work several years with the Hope Chapel in West Virginia. She worked 26 years for the U.S. Postal Service in Ullin and Perks.
Survivors include two sons, Jim (Cheri) Honey of Ullin, Jack (Cheryl) Honey of Metropolis, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Rose (Eddie) Dunning of Paducah, Ky.; five sisters, Geneva Harvell of Tamms, Ill., Virginia Goddard of Arlington Heights, Ill., Patsy Brown of Dupo, Ill., Laverne Thompson and Audrey Holland of Olive Branch, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Stacey Klett, Laura Byassee, Brad Honey, Laurie Gibbs, Jennifer Engelhardt, Ann Rose Burch and Chad Belcher; and seven great-grandchildren, Blake and Ethan Klett, Sarah and Erin Byassee, Brandon and Tyler Gibbs, and Owen Campbell Burch; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Sue Wilson, and an infant granddaughter.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Bill Gholson and Clint Nale officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Ullin or Cache Valley Apartments Activity Fund, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
