Richard Harvey "Dick" Shackles, 82, a resident of the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at St. Louis University Hospital.
He was born Nov. 17, 1927, in Alton, Ill., son of Paul N. and Marie L. Amrhein Shackles. He was raised in Chaffee, Mo.
Dick was a sergeant in the Army during World War II. He lived in St. Louis and worked as an office equipment salesman for S.G. Adams Co.
Survivors include a brother, William H. Shackles of Ballwin, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time at 11 a.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. Watis Harrell will officiate. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
