Dick Brazel, 69, of Jackson died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at home.
He was born Jan. 24, 1935, in Fornfelt, Mo. son of Homer and Dorothy Beaird Brazel. He and Juanita Sparks were married Dec. 16, 1961, at Illmo, Mo.
Brazel was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. After the service Dick worked at Lone Star Cement Co. in Cape Girardeau for 46 years. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church at Fruitland and a member and past president of the VFW Post 10495 in Jackson. He was also a member of Harold O. Grauel Masonic Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
In addition to his wife, loving survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law, Steve Brazel, Shawn Brazel and wife Robin, all of Jackson, James Cook of Indianapolis, Ind.; two grandsons, Cody and Dylan Brazel of Jackson. Also surviving are three sisters, Jody (Pat) McKee of Cape Girardeau, Gladys Kinsall of Jonesboro, Ark., Jean Williams of Waterloo, Iowa; two brothers, Pat (Carol) Brazel of Scott City, Mike (Donna) Brazel of Kansas City, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his his parents and two brothers.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Masonic rites will be at 7:30 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Richard Combs will officiate, assisted by the Revs. Don Kuehle and Kevin Cawley. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau with full military honors.
