Dianna Lee Morton, age 79, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Jan. 17, 1941, in Granite City, Illinois, the daughter of Leroy and Thelma May Kurre Watkins. She and Ronald Raymond Morton married April 17, 1960. He passed away April 27, 2011...

Dianna Morton

Dianna Lee Morton, age 79, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 17, 1941, in Granite City, Illinois, the daughter of Leroy and Thelma May Kurre Watkins. She and Ronald Raymond Morton married April 17, 1960. He passed away April 27, 2011.

Dianna was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School. She worked as a cashier for Cape Central High School cafeteria for several years. Dianna also volunteered for many years at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Loving survivors include her three children, Scott (Cheryl) Morton of Bourbon, Missouri; Cindy Graham of Jackson; and Dawn (John) Halter of Florida; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are a brother, John (Janet) Watkins of St. Louis, and a sister, Mary Kay (Bob) Lohmeier of Cape Girardeau.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

A graveside memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14 at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Elijah Allen officiating.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the American Diabetes Association.

McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
