Diana Godwin

Diana Kay Godwin, 67, of Sparta, Illinois, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015, at her home.

She was born Jan. 25, 1948, in Cape Girardeau, to Alfred and Alma Scherer Cummins.

Diana worked at Schnucks in Cape Girardeau and at Sparta Wal-Mart. She was a member of AARP and was of the Catholic belief.

Survivors include a son, Joel Godwin of Auckland, New Zealand; a sister, Barbara Jo Varnon of Benton, Arkansas; an aunt, Ruby Scherer of Cape Girardeau; three grandsons, Damon, Zak and Ryan; and a host of cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at McDaniel and Lee Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Sparta.

There will be no service.

Memorials may be given to the Randolph County Humane Society.
