CAIRO, Ill. -- Dewey Sasseen, 89, of Cairo died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at Lourdes Hospital at Paducah, Ky. He was born Sept. 27, 1910, at Charleston, Mo., son of Edward and Judy Baker Sasseen. He was married to Lillian Marie Sasseen. She died May 6, 1999...

CAIRO, Ill. -- Dewey Sasseen, 89, of Cairo died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at Lourdes Hospital at Paducah, Ky.

He was born Sept. 27, 1910, at Charleston, Mo., son of Edward and Judy Baker Sasseen. He was married to Lillian Marie Sasseen. She died May 6, 1999.

He retired from Burkart Manufacturing Co. at Cairo.

Survivors include a daughter, Joan Honey of Carterville; two sons, Edward Sasseen of Cairo and Edwin Sasseen of Paducah; and six grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Barkett Funeral Home at Cairo.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Verlee Eaker will officiate, with burial to follow at the IOOF Cemetery at Charleston.
