Dewey Harlan Hillier, 66, of Walker, Mo., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at his home. He was born Sept. 4, 1939, in Nevada, Mo., son of Harvey and Viola Murphy Hillier. Hillier grew up in Nevada and graduated from Harwood High School. He worked at Hallmark 20 years, and later moved to Cape Girardeau and operated his own engraving business. Dewey Harlan Hillier, 66, of Walker, Mo., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at his home.

He was born Sept. 4, 1939, in Nevada, Mo., son of Harvey and Viola Murphy Hillier.

Hillier grew up in Nevada and graduated from Harwood High School. He worked at Hallmark 20 years, and later moved to Cape Girardeau and operated his own engraving business. He moved back to Vernon County seven years ago.

Survivors include two sons, Mark Hillier of Chicago, Terry Hillier of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Linda Smith of Springfield, Mo.; a brother, Darrell Hillier of Nevada; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

A committal service was held Dec. 3 at Harwood Cemetery in Harwood, Mo., with John Nichols officiating.

Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada was in charge of arrangements.
