MARQUAND, Mo. -- Dewey Edison Barks, 86, of Marquand passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Claru Deville Nursing Center in Fredericktown, Mo.
He was born July 5, 1917, in Perry County, son of Melborne and Sara Fadler Barks. He and Helen Dolle were married in 1935 at Fredericktown. She preceded him in death May 28, 1999.
Mr. Barks was a livestock farmer, and owned and operated Barks Feed and Supply Co. in Marquand many years. He was an avid fisherman and a member of Marquand Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Karen Barks of Fredericktown; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Warren Huffman of Marquand, Janice and Don Sitze of Marble Hill, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Anita Flanagan, Dena Zoellner, Leta Starkey, Kevin Huffman, Gregory Huffman, Angela Sitze, and Michael Barks Jr.; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown, with the Rev. Bud Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Patton Methodist Cemetery.
