The family and friends of Devin Fitzgerald-Patterson had 27 wonderful years with him before his passing Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022.
He was a loving son, brother, father, partner, grandson, cousin, nephew and friend to all. He will always be remembered for his infectious smile and giving the best hugs ever! You never had to guess where you stood with him because he wore his heart on his sleeve, loving and feeling every emotion deeply.
His children, Wolfe and Luna, were his pride and joy! As a young man, Devin had dreams one day of having a family of his own and the proverbial house with a white picket fence.
He found that with the love of his life, Jenna Hale, the mother of his children.
Devin was very hard working and a problem solver. He had found a work family at Organic Remedies. He was passionate about his line of work, both on and off the clock. He was passionate about motorcycles. It was indicative of his adrenaline-chasing ways. He was witty beyond measure, loved music and driving around in his car listening to music. He had such compassion in him, especially toward dogs. He really loved dogs! His sister always says, "Anyone who meets him loves him instantly." And she is right! That legacy will live on in his children. His mother is beyond grateful to the village who helped her raise him!
He leaves behind his parents, Heather Fitzgerald and Carteiz King; sister, Rian; children, Wolfe and Luna Fitzgerald; life partner, Jenna Hale; grandparents, Tom and Barb Fitzgerald; aunt, Tanyia Fitzgerald; cousins, Jesse Massarweh and Jack Hulen, all of Cape Girardeau. Other survivors include more loving cousins and special friends who are more like family.
A celebration of life will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Celebrations Down Town event center, 19 S. Spanish St. in Cape Girardeau. A funeral would not feel right for someone so full of life!
Please come share stories with all and leave written ones for his young children to read as they grow older. Help us let them know how much their father mattered to others and what made him special.
A toast to Devin will be at 6 p.m., followed by a prayer and any speeches, stories or thoughts anyone would like to share.
Devin's favorite place was the beach. He had hoped to move to Florida one day. Devin's ashes will be scattered at a later date by his family at the beach to honor what brought him joy and solace in life.
