CHARLESTON -- Desales Duenne, 70, Charleston Route 2, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was born Jan. 15, 1927, in Mississippi County, son of Henry Bernard and Ann Catherine Bruenderman Duenne. He and Ruth A. Hayes were married Dec. 27, 1951...

CHARLESTON -- Desales Duenne, 70, Charleston Route 2, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Jan. 15, 1927, in Mississippi County, son of Henry Bernard and Ann Catherine Bruenderman Duenne. He and Ruth A. Hayes were married Dec. 27, 1951.

A lifelong resident of Mississippi County, Duenne was a landowner and had farmed with his late brother. He was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church, where he served as a eucharist minister, and was also a member of Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Daniel Duenne, Charleston Route 2; five daughters, Deborah Hobbs and Mary Duenne of Charleston, Frances Boruch of Niles, Ill., Barbara Pattengill of Cape Girardeau, Elizabeth Carney of Jackson; a brother, Henry Duenne Jr., Charleston Route 2; four sisters, Sister Bernardine Duenne, Catherine Showmaker and Rosala Scherer, all of Cape Girardeau, Monica Dirnberger of New Hamburg; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Funeral Mass will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Henry's Church, with the Rev. Richard Lause officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Texas Bend Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church Sunday from 4:30 p.m. to service time.

McMikle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
