Floyd "Deon" Stephens, 69, of Scott City died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at his home.
He was born May 9, 1940, in Scott City, to Charles Zenith and Violet "Lorena" Allen Stephens. He married Betty Jo Livingston April 23, 1960, in Illmo. She survives.
Stephens was a Diesel mechanic with Midwest Diesel.
He is survived by a son, Deon Stephens of Perryville, Mo.; three daughters, Cyndi Cassout, Jacqueline Raines and Sara Powers, all of Scott City; a sister, Barbara Barks of Jackson; a brother, John Stephens of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Stephens on Feb. 24, 1990; his parents; and three brothers.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Ken Strong officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
