Funeral service for Denzel R. Statler of St. Charles was held Saturday at Baue Funeral Home there. The Rev. Rick Holcombe officiated, with burial in St. Charles Memorial Gardens.
Statler, 76, died Thursday, April 16, 1992, at his home.
He was born Nov. 26, 1915, near Friedheim, son of Clyde A. and Bertha Middleton Statler. He married Jewell Marie Bryson Hoops, who died Dec. 19, 1985.
Statler was a jig builder at McDonnell Douglas. He was a member of Machinist Local 837, and Moose Lodge 1515 in St. Charles.
Survivors include a son, Alfred Statler of St. Charles; three stepsons, George and John Hoops of St. Charles, James Hoops of Florissant; two stepdaughters, Linda Sims of Kansas City, Madelyn Smyth of St. Charles; a brother, Rev. Earl Statler of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
