EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Denny Lee Owens, 81, formerly of East Prairie, died Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 26, 1935, in East Prairie to the late Charlie and Marie Owens. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Occupational Forces after the war. He worked for Bridger Construction until retirement.
On Dec. 4, 1954, he married Frankie Adkisson, who preceded him in death Feb. 19, 2011.

He is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Dennis Owens of Missouri and Daryl and Tracy Owens of Jackson; three sisters, Margie Smithson of Oklahoma, Alma Ashcraft of Jackson and Wilma Bradham of Benton, Missouri; and five grandchildren.
Graveside rites will be 2 p.m. Monday at Dogwood Cemetery, with the Rev. David Thompson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie has charge of arrangements.
