Dennis M. Toole, 64, of Leadington, Missouri, passed away Monday, Oct. 28, 2019, at Southbrook Skilled Nursing Center in Farmington, Missouri.

He was born Feb. 24, 1955, in Gideon, Missouri, to Boyce and Frances Pullum Toole. He and Sally Turnbaugh were married June 20, 1994 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Dennis was a 1973 graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School. After graduation, he began a 29-year career with Procter & Gamble Co. in Cape Girardeau. Early in his P & G career, Dennis decided to enlist in the U.S. Air Force, where he served his country proudly for four years. Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he resumed his career with Procter & Gamble, where he remained employed until his retirement in 2003.

Not content to be fully retired at such an early age, Dennis decided to pursue a second career in the field of nursing. He soon enrolled at Mineral Area College, from which he was graduated in 2006 with an associate degree in nursing. For the next eight years, he was employed as a registered nurse at Southeast Mental Health Facility in Farmington, retiring from his employment there in July of 2014.

Dennis enjoyed many interests and hobbies, including traveling, duck hunting and board games, but his greatest passion was playing cards. Competitive by nature, he was a master of strategy in many different card games and especially loved playing them with his family members at holiday gatherings.
