BENTON, Mo. -- Dennis Richard Lambert, 68, of Benton died Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at his home.
He was born Aug. 3, 1948, in Blodgett, Missouri, to Reno and Flora Mae Hunter Lambert.
He married Jane Schiwitz on Nov. 30, 1968.
Dennis was a pressman for the Daily Standard newspaper, a member of Local Laborers Union 282 for 13 years, a route salesman for Pevely and Turner Dairy for 13 years and a truck driver for Pilot Transportation for the last 20 years.
He was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Benton, where he was a deacon and Sunday-school teacher.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Jane Lambert; a son, Beau (Nirmala) Lambert of Benton; a daughter, Sara Lambert Duffield of Benton; Poppy to his grandchildren, Annabelle Duffield and Nathanael Lambert; three brothers, Billy Max (Marilyn) Lambert of Marquand, Missouri, Kenny (Betty) Lambert of Harlingen, Texas, and Danny Lambert of Blodgett, Missouri; three sisters, Christine Miller of Sikeston, Missouri, Jean (David) Sitzes of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Helen Morphis of Ash Flat, Arkansas; brother- and sisters-in-law Wendell (Barbara) Williams of Franklin, Tennessee, Bud (Brenda) Schiwitz, Robert (Dianne) Schiwitz and Fred Schiwitz, all of Benton, Kenny (Beverly) Schiwitz of Kelso, Missouri, Barbara (Fred) Cook of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Susan Nolan of Cape Girardeau; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and -nephews; and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gary Lambert; a sister, Dorothy Williams; father- and mother-in-law, Arthur and Mildred Schiwitz; and brothers-in-law Mike Nolan and Paul Morphis.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Amick-Burnett Chapel in Benton and from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the Unity Baptist Church in Benton.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating.
Burial will be in Unity Baptist Cemetery.
