MARBLE HILL -- Dennis F. Benfield, 76, of Marble Hill, died Thursday, June 15, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 20, 1919, at Siloam Springs, son of Dennis Franklin and Mattie A. Roper Benfield. He and Lena Altermatt were married Dec. 26, 1936.
Benfield had lived in Marble Hill since 1951. He retired as manager of Fairway Department Store in Lutesville. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Leroy Benfield of Perryville; two grandsons, and four great-grandsons.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Little Zion Baptist Church in Willow Springs. The Rev. Lonnie Roper will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
