JONESBORO, Ill. -- Dennis E. Helton, 46, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, April 7, 1993, at his home. He was born Jan. 27, 1947, in Benton, son of Homer and Ruby Church Helton. He and Linda Newberry were married Feb. 6, 1968. Helton was a truck driver, and member of Faith Christian Fellowship Church in Anna. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War...

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Dennis E. Helton, 46, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, April 7, 1993, at his home.

He was born Jan. 27, 1947, in Benton, son of Homer and Ruby Church Helton. He and Linda Newberry were married Feb. 6, 1968.

Helton was a truck driver, and member of Faith Christian Fellowship Church in Anna. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Dennis Helton Jr. of Dongola; two sisters, Barbara Jackson of Olmsted, Tirzah Reynolds of Elgin, and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Norris and Son Funeral Chapel. The Revs. Herman Painter and Charles Brookhouse will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 at Anna.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
