CHARLESTON -- Denise Gillespie Fennell, 28, of Charleston, died Sunday, June 18, 1995, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 22, 1966, in East Prairie, the daughter of Creacy Gary Gillespie of Bertrand, and the late Theodore Gillespie Jr.
She was a 1984 graduate of Charleston High School and a graduate of the Sikeston School of Nursing. She worked at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston as a certified nurse assistant.
On Aug. 26, 1989, she married Glenn Fennell.
She is survived by her mother; her husband; a son, Glenn Fennell Jr. of Charleston; a daughter, Lavonda Fennell of Charleston; five brothers, her twin brother Dennis, Marvin and Delmar Gillespie of Charleston and Richard and Leonard Gillespie of Bertrand; three sisters, Lydia and Velma Gillespie of Irving, Texas, and Valerie Gillespie of Columbus, Ga.
Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Bowden Civic Center in Charleston, with the Rev. William Watson officiating.
Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
