ESSEX, Mo. -- Delphia L. "Dorothy" Sitz, 90, of Essex died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000, at Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter, Mo.
She was born Dec. 29, 1909, in Ashville, N.C., daughter of William L. and Mary Etta Deweese Sawyer. She and Clarence H. Sitz were married Jan. 23, 1932, in Rosewell, Mich.
Sitz lived in Michigan several years, moving to Essex 45 years ago.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Kenneth Sitz of Essex; a daughter, Nancy Wood of Dexter; five sisters, Betty Gentry of Hendersonville, N.C., Katherine Carter of Democrat, N.C., Nell Hicks of Toledo, Ohio, Joyce Riddle of Houston, Texas, Jean Spangler of Columbus, Ohio; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Doyle Corlew officiating. Burial will be in Essex Cemetery.
