Delores Thompson

PERU, Ill. -- Delores Jean Thompson, 66, of Peru passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022, at home surrounded by her family.

Delores was born June 14, 1955, in Cape Girardeau to Rudy and Ruie Jackson Thompson.

She was a caregiver for her mother and brother for over 10 years. She was a member of Crossbridge Church in Peru, loved to go shopping and was a true St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Survivors include her children, Amy Hartgrove, Dustin (Cleora) Thompson, Melanie Thompson and Brooke (Adrian Gann) Henry, of Peru, and Bradley Thompson; 13 grandchildren, Karli, Kyle, Keegan, Kamdyn, Kezdyn, Emily, Nathan, Joey, Mason, Johnathan, Kayleb, Ruie and Rhianna; four great-grandchildren, Draya, Jessiah, Asher and one on the way, Anessa; four brothers, Frank, Glen, Tommy and Richard Thompson; a sister, Shirley Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Donald, Gene and Robert Thompson; sister, Cynthia Thompson; two nephews, Bobby Thompson and Brian Thompson; and a sister-in-law, Faye Thompson.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Mueller Funeral Home in Peru.

Additional visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, with a graveside service to follow at 1 p.m. at Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
