Delores Jean Freeman, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021 at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 24, 1944, in Cape Girardeau to Leo Charles "Dick" Hengst and Valene Mildred Helton Hengst. She and Donald Lewis Freeman were married Dec. 1, 1963, in Cape Girardeau.
She was a Cape Girardeau Central High 1962 graduate. She and her husband were owners of Cape Tree Service and Freeman Crane Service retiring after 32 years. She was owner of Kelso Country Club and Viking Pressure Washing and a lifetime member of VFW Auxiliary and was past president of Hillcrest Subdivision HOA. She was an election judge for Cape Girardeau County. She also worked at Taco Bell.
Survivors include two daughters, Robin Marie Gaither of Cape Girardeau, Jamie Freeman of Cape Girardeau,; son, Donald Lee (Teresa) Freeman of Imperial, Missouri; brother, Richard (LaDonna) Hengst; four grandchildren, Amy Gaither, Heather Gaither, Kenny Freeman, Nick Freeman; two nieces, Michelle Ross, LeAnna Graham; nephew, Grant Hengst; and many other nieces, nephews, in-laws, and other relatives from the Kansas and Missouri area.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lewis Freeman; father, Leo Charles "Dick" Hengst; mother, Valene Mildred Helton.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral Service will be at noon Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Pfanstiel officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Egypt Mills.
Memorial contributions may be given to Hanover Building Fund or Make A Wish Foundation.
