CAIRO, Ill. -- Deloise E. Chaney Tyler, 64, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Pulaski, Ill., died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at her home.

She was born July 16, 1940, in Wyatt, Mo., daughter of Oley and Alma Rimpson Chaney. She married Willie Tyler in 1970.

She attended Milliken School of Music in Decatur, Ill., then transferred to Southern Illinois University where she received a bachelor of science degree in education, with a major in special education.

She taught in California then took a year to live and travel in Germany. In 1966 she took a job teaching in Las Vegas with the Clark County School District. She later earned a master's of education degree in counseling. She then trained and was certified as a home-care attendant. She was employed as a caregiver for homebound senior citizens at the time of her death.

Survivors include three brothers, Lonnie, Oley Jr. and Arnell Chaney; and three sisters, Geraline Pentsil, Thelma Havis and Velmarie Halyk.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter and two sisters.

Friends may call at noon until time of service Saturday at the Grace Christian Fellowship Church in Mounds, Ill.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. with the Revs. Lloyd Jordan and Ron Webb officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Heights Memorial Park at Mounds. Massie Funeral Home in Cairo is in charge of arrangements.
