Delmar Wayne Witt, 92, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Scott City, died Sunday, April 12, 2015, at the Missouri Veterans Home.
He was born May 12, 1922, in Arrowsmith, Illinois, to George Vader and Carrie Mae Taylor Witt. He and Betty LaVerne Short were married June 25, 1946, in St. Louis. She preceded him in death Jan. 16, 2005.
Delmar was a former manager at West Lake Quarry. He was a member of VFW in Arrowsmith.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Robert (Lou) Witt of Benton, Missouri; three daughters, Arlinda (Alan) McElmurry of Jackson, Patricia (George) Ricca of Morton, Illinois, and Deborah (Jim) McMahon of Scott City; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and his family at the veterans home.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and a son, Donald Witt.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, and from 11:30 a.m. until time of service Thursday at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Kathryn Otto officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City with full military honors.
