Delmar E. Koenig, 80, of New Wells died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at his home. He was born July 16, 1932, in Farrar, Mo., son of Martin H. and Agnes L. Koenig. He and Ruby V. Delmar E. Koenig, 80, of New Wells died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at his home.

He was born July 16, 1932, in Farrar, Mo., son of Martin H. and Agnes L. Koenig. He and Ruby V. Meyr were married Oct. 9, 1954.

Delmar was a self-employed farmer and truck driver. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Fellowship Club in New Wells and American Legion Post 133; he was former member and elder of Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bruce L. Koenig of New Wells and Brian (Dianna) Koenig of Perryville, Mo.; a daughter, Brenda (Bill) Koenig-Renz of Arvada, Colo.; a sister, Leola (Paul) Scholl of Jackson; five grandchildren, Tyson Koenig, Jarod (Jennifer Johns) Koenig, Ryan Koenig, Jasmyne Renz and Shayla Renz; and a great-grandson, Benjamin Koenig.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Keith Allen Koenig.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 to 8 a.m. Monday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. An American Legion wake will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Walter Patzwitz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 133 and Missouri Delta Team.

Memorials are preferred to Saxony Lutheran High School or Immanuel Lutheran School Building Fund.
