Delma Huettig

Delma M. Huettig, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, June 8, 2007, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Nov. 20, 1913, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of August and Amelia (Meyer) Oberbeck. She and Wilbert E. Huettig were married Sept. 10, 1944, in Cape Girardeau. He died Feb. 14, 2004.

Huettig was a member of Hanover Lutheran Church, its Ladies Aid and Dramatic Club. She was a Sunday school teacher more than 30 years and was a former member of the Kennedy Evangelism.

She and her husband formerly owned the land that the Jaycee Golf Course is on, and were former operators of the golf course. She was a former secretary at Rueseler Motor Co.

Survivors include a son-in-law, James W. Mirly of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren, Steven Mirly (Tonia) and Jill Clements of Cape Girardeau; and three great- grandchildren, Bethany Mirly, Logan Mirly and Samantha Clements.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a daughter, Marilyn R. Mirly, who passed away Feb. 6, 2005.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. to service time Sunday at Hanover Lutheran Church.

The service will be at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, with the Rev. Daniel Hackney officiating. Burial will be in Hanover Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hanover Lutheran Church New Building Fund.
