MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Dell Ward Smith, 95, of Marble Hill died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at Elder Care in Marble Hill.
She was born Dec. 18, 1909, in Glenallen, Mo., daughter of William F. and Nellie Goodson Underwood. She first married Buford C. Ward, who died April 10, 1957. She and Kline Smith were married Dec. 24, 1959. He died Jan. 27, 2001.
Mrs. Smith had owned and operated Ward's Cafe. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Marble Hill, and VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, Gene Ward of Marble Hill; two grandsons, Robert Ward of Colorado Springs, Colo., Timothy Ward of Cape Girardeau; two great-grandchildren, Beau Ward and Kelliann Hamel of Colorado Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gilbert Underwood; three sisters, Ethel Whitener, Versie Martin, Jewell Miller; and a granddaughter, Tamara Ward Morehouse.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Fred Ritter officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
