JONESBORO, Ill. -- Delbert Dean Stone, 70, Jonesboro Route 1, died Saturday, Oct. 22, 1994, at the VA Medical Center in Marion.
He was born June 28, 1924, in Alto Pass, son of Hollie and Bessie Goodman Stone. He and Margaret Maxine Whitley were married Feb. 27, 1946, in Lake County, Ind.
Stone formerly owned and operated Deb's Music Store in Anna, and had operated an auto body repair shop.
He was a member of Lansing Apostolic Church, Jonesboro Masonic Lodge, VFW, Disabled American Veterans, and National Rifle Association. He was a veteran of World War II and received a Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael Stone of Jonesboro; a daughter, Susan Isom of Jonesboro; a brother, James Stone of Portage, Ind., and eight grandchildren.
Friends may call at Norris and Son Funeral Home from 5-8:30 p.m. today. A Masonic service will be held at 7.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Bryant officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery at Dongola, with military graveside rites by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455.
