ADVANCE -- Delbert A. Sherman, 82, of Advance, died Monday, Aug. 10, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Nov. 17, 1909, at Lowndes, son of Phillip Martin and Hannah Fry Sherman. He married Hattie B. Turner, who preceded him in death. He later married Francis Abbott Nov. 17, 1966, in St. Louis.
Sherman was a maintenance worker with St. Louis Car. Co. 13 years before retiring.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Glendale Sherman of St. Charles, Phillip Sherman of Pearblossom, Calif., Danny Sherman of Cucamonga, Calif.; two daughters, Wanda Summerton of St. Peters, Patricia Pike of Cucamonga; two stepdaughters, Row Rader of Arnold, Cecilia Abashawn of Arnold; a sister, Lucy Scarbrow of Wood River, Ill.; a half sister, Faye Shipp of Cahokia, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and four stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a half brother and three half sisters.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Ina Allen and Nick Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Morgam Memorial Park.
