Delores "Dee" Ponder, 76, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, March 20, 2016, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Thursday, June 15, 1939, in St. Louis to Ansel Paul and Evelyn Ruby Higgins Jones.
Dee worked at the Oran (Missouri) Hat Factory and Thorngate and Columbia Sportswear, both in Chaffee, Missouri.
She loved to read, do jigsaw puzzles and play solitaire.
Survivors include two daughters, Paulette Scheper and Debbie Jaynes of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Amanda Tubbs, Gretchen Payne and Ashley Adrian; 11 great-grandchildren, Whitney, Kendra, Kenneth and Tiana Byassee, T.J. Payne, Britany Haden, James Wright Jr., Dakota and Harley Wright and Peyton and Tyler Adrian.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Ronald Scheper; and a brother, Donald Joseph Jones.
There is no visitation.
Graveside funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Entombment will be at the mausoleum.
