SIKESTON -- Mrs. Decima A. Munger, 78, of Sikeston, died Tuesday, April 23, 1991, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews. She was born Nov. 4, 1912, in Boydsville, Ark., daughter of Claude and Hettie Carpenter Parrish. She married Joseph A. Munger Sr. in 1935 at Bridges. He died in March 1972...

SIKESTON -- Mrs. Decima A. Munger, 78, of Sikeston, died Tuesday, April 23, 1991, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews.

She was born Nov. 4, 1912, in Boydsville, Ark., daughter of Claude and Hettie Carpenter Parrish. She married Joseph A. Munger Sr. in 1935 at Bridges. He died in March 1972.

Mrs. Munger was a child development director and had been involved with several preschool programs. She was founder and first director of Mother's Day Out program at First United Methodist Church.

She had lived in Sikeston since 1944. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and its Women's Society of Christian Service, and member of Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include two sons, Joe Munger Jr. of Sikeston, Bill Munger of East Prairie; a sister, Martha Holifield of Piggott, Ark., and five grandsons.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel after 9 a.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 4 p.m. today at the chapel. The Rev. Charles Buck will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
