Deborah Kay Hanks, 66, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, March 9, 2019, at her home.
She was born July 29, 1952, in Cape Girardeau to Bud and Mary Ann Stern Joyce. She married James Hanks on April 29, 1971.
Deborah was a volunteer firefighter with the East County Fire Protection District at its very beginning.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Hanks; two sons, Jimmy (Gretchen) Hanks and Tony (Jennifer) Hanks; daughter, Rachel (Craig Hale) Hanks; seven grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Vickie Paskel; and brother, Gerald Joyce.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Brian Gill officiating. Interment will be at Williams Cemetery in Perkins, Missouri.
Memorial contributions may be made to Crain Funeral Home to assist the family with final expenses.
