JACKSON -- Dealing "D.D." Runnels, 82, of Jackson died Monday, May 5, 1997, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 6, 1914, at Millersville, son of Fred and Rosa Ates Runnels. He and Mildred Brown were married July 18, 1935.
Runnels had been a farmer and livestock dealer, retiring in 1993. The Runnels moved to Jackson in 1963 from Whitewater.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Larry and Jeff Runnels of Pocahontas, Joe Runnels of Jackson; three daughters, Gloria McSpadden, Lela Green and Katie Green, all of Jackson; a brother, Loren Runnels of Wappapello; a sister, Marie Proffer of Ft. Worth, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, two brothers, and a sister.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 5-9 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Mike Huffman and Luther Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
