SCOTT CITY -- Davis Thomas "Tom" Eaton, 65, of Scott City, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 28, 1927, at Peachtree, son of Davis Wingate and Ellen Coleman Eaton. He first married Betty Becraft Jan. 18, 1950. He later married Geraldine Cromwell May 5, 1974.
Eaton was a former police chief at Scott City. He was a member of a Masonic Lodge, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Christine Helwege and Jeri Eaton of Cape Girardeau, Vicci Mims of Scopus; two sons, Michael Eaton of Scott City, Bill Eaton of Cape Girardeau; a stepson, Stephen McKelvey of Florence, Ala.; a stepdaughter, Stephanie Davidson of Chaffee; eight grandchildren, and two stepgrandchildren.
