GIPSY, Mo. -- David Houston Tanner, 50, of Gipsy passed away Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at his home.
He was born Aug. 3, 1958, at Hayti, Mo., son of Ivan "Fuzz" and Mavis Tanner. He and Kimberly Jackson were married June 2, 1984, in Advance, Mo.
Tanner was a retired truck driver. He was a member of Brush Creek Missionary Baptist Church and Zalma Masonic Lodge 545.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Mark Houston Tanner of Gipsy; his mother, Mavis Britton of Dexter, Mo.; mother and father-in-law, Sis and Jerry Jackson of Gipsy; three brothers, Gary, Stephen and Kevin Britton, all of Dexter; and two sisters, June Cochran of Sikeston, Mo., and Jeanie Henson of Bloomfield, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Billy.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Danny Collins officiating. Burial will be in Berrong Cemetery near Gipsy.
