JACKSON -- David Paul Sides, 49, of Jackson died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at his home. He was born Sept. 13, 1949, in Cape Girardeau, son of Norman H. and Minnie E. Dalton Sides. He married Angela Schoen. Sides was a 1969 graduate of Jackson High School, attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, received degrees in law enforcement and teaching from Southeast Missouri State University, and was a 1983 graduate of the FBI Academy in Vermont...

JACKSON -- David Paul Sides, 49, of Jackson died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at his home.

He was born Sept. 13, 1949, in Cape Girardeau, son of Norman H. and Minnie E. Dalton Sides. He married Angela Schoen.

Sides was a 1969 graduate of Jackson High School, attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, received degrees in law enforcement and teaching from Southeast Missouri State University, and was a 1983 graduate of the FBI Academy in Vermont.

He most recently was employed at Procter & Gamble. He had also been a member of the Perryville Police Department. He coached youth soccer and baseball in Jackson and was an avid bowler.

Sides served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include two sons, James and J.P. Sides of the home; a daughter, Angelica Sides of Jackson; and his mother of Jackson.

Also surviving are three brothers, Sherman Sides of Tacoma, Wash., Marvin Sides of Jackson, Steven Sides of Denver, Colo.; six sisters, Nelda Alpert of Maryland Heights, Genie Baker of Old Appleton, Janey Harper of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mary Nash of Belton, Geneva Hartle and Sherry Patrick of Jackson; and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Luther Rhodes will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Fruitland.
