ADVANCE -- David Raymond Rhodes, 55, of Advance died Saturday, Feb. 11, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 12, 1939, at Whitewater, son of Raymond and Amy Rhodes.
He was a police officer in Advance and a merchant. He also served on a committee to purchase war memorial monuments for the Advance Park. Rhodes was a veteran of the Navy.
He married Cindy Robertson April 9, 1979.
He is survived by his parents, Raymond Rhodes of Whitewater and Amy Rhodes of Advance; a son, Kevin David Rhodes of Advance; two daughters, Robin Below of Delta and April Robertson of Advance; a stepdaughter, Michelle Griggs of Whitewater; five sisters, Betty Shult and Carol Jeffries, both of Villa Ridge, Cindy Diggs of St. Louis, Martha Lavern of Kline, Miss., and Judy Simkin of New London; and five grandchildren.
His stepfather preceded him in death.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday at the funeral home at 11 a.m., with the Rev. J.O. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Stroderville Cemetery near Whitewater.
