Michael "David" Papendick, 55, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at his home.
He was born Jan. 3, 1960, in St. Louis to Charles and Yvonne Sanders Papendick.
David graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with degrees in general education, electronics and industrial arts.
He was a member of ROTC during his entire time at Southeast and achieved the rank of second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. He spent 26 years as an educator at the Career and Technology Center of Cape Girardeau. He also worked at both Mineral Area College and Southeast.
He also volunteered his time working with students on robotics projects. David loved raising bulldogs.
He is survived by a sister, Chyrise Adams; a niece, Venisia Martin; four nephews, Devin Papendick, Ernest and Nathan Humes and Jacob Adams, all of St. Charles, Missouri; and his best friend, John Nolan of Salem, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Rosenberger Papendick, and his parents.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service Saturday at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date.
