David Johnson

David S. Johnson, 58, of Jackson died Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, Missouri, due to a short illness.

He was born Oct. 28, 1964, in Scott County to the late Rev. Roy P. and Marjorie E. Luepnitz Johnson of Cape Girardeau.

David is survived by three sisters, Lisa Pinkerton of Jackson, with whom he had lived since 2011, and Stella Wright and Janith Bates, both of Paducah, Kentucky; two brothers, Roy Abbott of Paducah and Roger Hilpert of Southern California; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

There will be a private family graveside service.

Arrangements were made by Ford and Sons Funeral home in Jackson.
