JONESBORO, Ill. -- David F. Sronce, 80, of Jonesboro, Ill., died Saturday Nov. 30, 1996, at his home.
He was born on Oct. 17, 1916, in Anna, Ill., son of Harvey and Blanche Dickerson Sronce. He married Jewel Brown in Manchester, Ga., on Oct. 29, 1944 and she preceded him in death on Jan. 26, 1979.
He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Anna VFW Post 3455 and the First Church of God in Anna, and had retired from Gilmore Asphalt.
He is survived by companion and friend Emma Gray, of Jonesboro; two sons, Robert Sronce, of Vergennes, Ill., and Joe Sronce, of Elco, Ill.; two daughters, Selena Kilpatrick, of Anna, and Judy Blazier, of Willisville, Ill.; one brother, Lester Sronce, of Oatha, Kan.; one sister, Alberta Hileman, of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.
Friends may call from 5 p.m to 8 p.m. today at the Hileman & Parr Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. J.D. Morrison officiating. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Anna VFW Post 3455.
