Funeral service for David Franklin Pierce of St. Louis, formerly of Cape Girardeau, was held Monday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. Neil Stein officiated, with burial in Memorial Park.
Pierce, 86, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1992, at his home.
He was born Feb. 20, 1906, in Hollywood, Mo., son of Marion and Effie Trout Pierce. He and Venida Ford were married Feb. 6, 1933, in Cape Girardeau.
Pierce was a self-employed painter, and member of Painters Local 1199. He had lived in St. Louis the past 40 years.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerry Pierce of New Baden, Ill., David Pierce of St. Louis; two daughters, Jo Ell Jordan of Perryville, Carol Kayser of St. Louis; four sisters, Nellie Boren of Jonesboro, Ill., Minnie Sanders and Lucille Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau, Mary Hayden of Belleville, Ill.; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
