BELL CITY, Mo. -- David Joe Eakin, 73, of Bell City passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022, at his home.

He was born March 31, 1949, in Bell City, the son of Ardis and Gussie Freeman Eakin. David and Robin Bollinger were united in marriage on Sept. 21, 2022, at Advance, Missouri, and she survives.

David was a self-employed truck driver and cattle farmer. He was a member of The A Frame Church in Bell City.

He enjoyed spending time at Norfork Lake. He loved being entertained by his grandchildren, riding horses and taking care of his animals.

Survivors include his wife, Robin Eakin; two daughters, Teresa (Kevin) Awalt of Troy, Missouri, and Gayla (Sean) Daugherty of Webster Groves, Missouri; a brother, Mike Eakin of Bell City; four sisters, Viva (Kenneth) Pope of Oran, Missouri; Pat Eakin of Bell City; Sharon (Rick) Lawson of Dexter, Missouri; and Donna (Phil) Stephens of Bell City; and six grandchildren, Devyn Awalt, Loren Awalt, Katy Awalt, Dory Awalt, Anna Daugherty and Ben Daugherty.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gaylon Eakin.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel with the Rev. Ted Stone officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield, Missouri.
