David Michael Dodd, 52, of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, March 31, 2007, at his residence in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 22, 1954, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Robert Lorin Dodd and Marie Barry Hacke. He and Diane Crites Dodd were married on Oct. 16, 1993, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Dodd was a member of La Croix United Methodist Church in Cape. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1976. He was very active in his church, committed to his family and he loved his Lord. He was the director of security at West Park Mall and had been there since 1992.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Crites Dodd, of Cape Girardeau; his father, Robert Lorin Dodd, and mother, Marie Barry Hacke, both of Des Moines, Iowa; two sons, Matthew David Dodd and Michael James Dodd, both of Cape Girardeau; five sisters, Kathy Wunder of Des Moines, Mary Waterman of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Beth Forbes of Boise, Idaho, Linda Bennett of Des Moines and Jean Neibergall of Des Moines.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at La Croix United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ron Watts officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, La Croix United Methodist Church or St. Andrew Lutheran Church.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
