David Dennis

David O. Dennis, 72, of Jackson died Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at his home.

He was born March 29, 1949, in Elgin, Illinois, to Omar Hargiss and Vivian Ivalene Watson Dennis. He and Bonnie Jean Ackman were married Aug. 18, 1989, in Cape Girardeau,.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

David was a truck driver for over seven years for Landstar.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Jean Dennis; three sons, Stan W. Gunter, Terry W. Cook Jr. and Jeff Kennett Sr.; three daughters, Melissa Mason, Lisa Renee Cook and Tammy Rios; 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Donny Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
