BLOOMFIELD -- David Baxter Griffy, 61, of Boonville, died Monday, Feb. 3, 1992, at the Veterans Hospital in Columbia.

He was born Nov. 3, 1930, at Puxico, son of Ralph and Dixie Siler Griffy. He and Betty McGraw Pepper were married May 4, 1952, at Bloomfield.

Griffy served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of First Christian Church in Harrison.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, David and Jack Griffy of Wappapello; two daughters, Sherri Griffy of Bloomfield, Norma Penny of Boonville; two brothers, Dale Griffy of Festus, Carroll Griffy of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Margie Mathis of Dexter, Linda Hallmark of Wappapello, and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, brother and three sisters.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Polk Chapel Cemetery at Currentview.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 tonight.
